I have experienced the same issue but can't find a work around in auto

Do you use ChiTuBox V1.2.0?

I continue to have the problem on many models and I am using v1.3 and it happens even if the model starts flat and is raised the default 5mm.  This means the application is almost no use to me on the models where this happens.  Oddest part is sometimes with some models it is fine.
