Chitubox 1.7.0 rediculous time needed to save.

Anton van Elswijk 2020-10-1 2587

I updated to chitubox 1.7.0 today, but saving a file is taking way too long!

I've let it run for about 5 minutes before i decided to download 1.6.3, install it, slice the same file, save it to my desktop and it was done with 1.7.0 not even being on 2-3% of the same job.

So it is not my computer or whatever as 1.6.3 does dave fast and 1.7.0 might not even save at all.

Using Macmini Late2012 i5 2,5ghz, 16gb ram, 1536mb gpu, on MacOS Catalina 10.15.6 using a hybrid drive harddisk.

ps: I am in the same job still, it has been over 20minutes now and it has done between5- 10%, this would take atleast 7-8hours to save like this.

Same here brand new mac and it takes about 2 hours to save a file to the USB, now going back to the previous version as the new one isn't working as it should.

I confirm that I have the same problem on a MacBook Pro running Catalina. Going back to 1.6.3...

i have been having the same issue on several windows 10 machines and my mac, the file saving process seems to freeze about half way through

Count me in too...slices fast but takes hours to save.  Tried installing previous versions, but now those won't save either.  1.7.0 definitely borked something.

    Problem exists across multiple PCs

Exit with 1.7.0 version. Multiples bugs with freezes on W7.

Same issue.  I switched back to last stable version and I also found that the print time is significantly less.   The last project I printed was estimated and took 7 hours.  Curious I loaded it in 1.6.5 and it went to 4 hours, and printed in 4 hours with no lose of detail.

I ran into this as well - the current ChituBox 1.7 is unusably slow, so I'm sticking with 1.6.4.3 for now. The new features look great, but ultimately slicing is more important. :-)

It's being optimized and will be much improved in the next version.

I just downloaded and tried with 1.8.0 beta and while it's not taking two hours it's taking an absurdly long time. Sliced the same file with Lychee and it takes seconds to save. Also, 1.7.0 and 1.8.0 have no resin profiles or settings (on the Mac download) for Elegoo Mars Pro. Is this expected? I couldn't find any information on this happening or what to do about it.
